Quin Dangan NS Hurling: Clonlara + Sixmilebridge Match Report

7/6/2017

Quin Dangan vs Clonlara
Quin went into this game knowing a win in this match would put them through to the Division 1 Semi-Final, an accomplishment that the school previously never achieved before.

Quin scored 2 points early on but Clonlara didn't answer back with a whisper, they answered back with a roar, a goal in the roof of the net and from that point on, the face of the game changed. It was end-to-end until the end of the half, where Clonlara scored another goal which gave them a one goal lead going into half time.

Quin came out with a bang at the start of the second half with a point from Jack and a goal from Sam. However, they were the only scores we would get until the end of the second half. As much as I hate to say it, It was an annihilation from that point onwards. Clonlara scored 1-3 unanswered until Niall had a chance and the Clonlara keeper made a safe that would have made Eoin Murphy proud as the ball was tipped over the bar. Another goal sealed our fate as the game ended

Final Score: Quin Dangan 1-6, Clonlara 4-4

Quin Dangan vs Sixmilebridge
After a 7 point beating at the hands of Clonlara, this was truly a Do or Die game for Quin, a win would enter them into a 3-way playoff with Clonlara and Sixmilebridge, which would send the top  2 teams through. A loss however, would send Sixmilebridge and Clonlara through and Quin out.

SMB started off with an early Goal and a Point but Quin retaliated with a Goal from Sam and a point, Unfortunately, this run of scores was short lived as SMB scored another goal. At half time, SMB led by two points.

We needed a hero and in the second half we got one, Jack scored 7 points unanswered and ultimately which would turn the game in our favour.

Final Score: Quin Dangan 1-11, Sixmilebridge 3-3

We replay both teams in a 3 way playoff to decide who will go to the Semi-Finals
