Scoil na Mainistreach Quin Dangan boasts many talented musicians among staff and students. Mrs O'Neill has directed the Banna Cheoil for the past number of years, under whose talented leadership the school has had the benefit of enjoying many performances at school masses and functions. The children play a wide variety of musical instruments including tin whistles, flutes, banjos, concertinas, guitars, keyboards and accordions. As well as performing for social occassions, the group have enjoyed success at competitive level in Féile na hInse.
The choir at Scoil na Mainistreach under the tuition of Ms Howley, Ms Rice-Quinn and Mrs Reddan, practise weekly and perform regularly at school events. The choir have also achieved great success, in 2016, the group came first in Féile na hInse with an unprecedented perfect score from the adjudicator for two outstanding renditions of "Can Amhrán" and "Cuirfimid Deandaí". 2016 also saw the choir enter the prestigious Walton's Music for Schools competition for the first time, and although the choir did not feature in the final, it did receive a commendation of high praise from the judging panel.
