This week is national Science week and we have been very busy here in Scoil na Mainistreach learning about and carrying out experiments.
In our classroom we focused on 5 experiments: Making a rainbow walk, Making a lava lamp, Making a volcano, Making a bubbly cauldron and Making fireworks in a class bottle. Our focus was on making things move or 'explode' as was in the case for some of our experiments!
On Wednesday we trialed our experiments to see if we could make them work and on Thursday Mr. Clohessy's class came to visit our class and we showed them how our experiments worked. Afterwards we called back over to their classroom to see their experiments.
Unfortunately Miss Daffy was so impressed with watching us carrying out and enjoying our experiments that she forgot to take pictures and is really sorry! But here are notes on how we carried out our experiments in case anyone would like to try them out at home - just have kitchen paper and baby wipes on standby!!!
